We, Professionals Truck Drivers

This is a translation of the manifesto posted in French.

- We, Professionals Truck Drivers, ask the governments and all the transportation industry recognition of our professional skills to counter the pseudo-shortage of Drivers.

-We, Professional Truck Drivers,  ask mapping skills that would ensure the expertise and professionalism of Truckers who work on our roads.

- Such a competency card would also aim to set up a pay scale that would help to compensate Truck Driver at fair value, taking into account the expertise and their experiences.

-We, Professional Truck Drivers, we call on governments to stop the importation of Drivers at a discount under the pretext that there would be a shortage of Drivers when there is here a workforce ample and competent.

- We, Professional Truck Drivers, ask to the governments to eliminate every participant between transport companies and employees, (agencies).

-Let us move closer of our managers of the industry of transport and with help of the governements, let us look together for the ways to depreciate the import of workforce with discount by demonstrating the profitability to hire local, competent Drivers who are,at present, available.

- We are ready to work together with the leaders of the industry of transport, to establish a practicable term, define an hourly rate and reasonable and right working conditions. All this so that we can exercise our profession with dignity and pride.

- Let us be available, governments, employers, participants and associates to exchange, to create links by the intervention of tables of dialogues, committees, as well as any other body which intervenes and governs the working conditions or any other important subject which has an impact on the profession.

-I invite every person, no matter its role and status in domains connected with transport to retie this thread broken to repatriate the Truck Drivers who left the business.

- To
shine due to our factor of performance, efficience and benevolence by the recognition and so make of North America a reference.

- We cannot continue so, it is up to us to take all in hand, to return in the profession, its fame and its integrity.

-It is possible to you to express that you are for in against or undecided. Your opinions, ideas matter.  See the section comment in the bottom. If you wish to add your signature to our, please send your name to:

  1. Outlawing the importation of temporary foreign workers which causes a drag on driver compensation rates is reason alone to support this. That said, I support this for several other reasons as well.
